No Butts About It – We’re Proud to Be Supporting Bowel Cancer Awareness Month
April is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month – and we’re here to shout from the (loo)tops that early detection saves lives.
Bowel cancer is the UK’s second biggest cancer killer, and yet many of us don’t feel comfortable talking about it. That needs to change. The more we know the signs, the more lives we can save. That’s why Serious Tissues has proudly supported ITV’s Lorraine and the “No Butts” campaign from the very beginning, back in 2021.
Some of you might remember when Dame Deborah James came to our office to speak to the team – a truly inspiring day that’s stayed with us ever since. Since then, we’ve printed the early signs of bowel cancer on our packaging, included flyers in our toilet roll boxes, and helped spread the word every way we can.
We believe brands have a responsibility to do more than just sell products. For us, that means using every loo roll as an opportunity to educate and empower people to look after their health.
So, what should you be looking out for?
-
Blood in your poo or from your bottom
-
Obvious change in your bowel habit
-
Weight loss you can’t explain
-
Extreme tiredness for no reason
-
Lump or pain in your tummy
Not feeling peachy downstairs? Don’t ignore it. If something doesn’t feel right, speak to your GP.
Let’s all keep the conversation going. Let’s help more people catch it early. And let’s save lives.
